Over 244,000 model year 2006-2009 Lexus IS and certain model year 2006-2007 Lexus GS vehicles were affected by Toyota's most recent recall. This recall addressed a possible fire hazard posed by an insufficient tightening of the fuel pressure sensor installed in these vehicles. If loosening of the sensor were to occur, fuel could leak past a gasket used in the connection between the sensor and the fuel pipe, increasing the risk of fire if an ignition source is present.
Registered owners are advised to take their Lexus into the nearest dealership for a free inspection and repair, if necessary. Toyota has not yet reported an owner notification schedule, but owners are welcome to contact Toyota at 1-800-331-4331 or visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Vehicle Safety hotline at 1-888-327-4236 for more information.
