Mazda to Recall 27,800 RX8 Sports Cars
ConsumerAffairs.com

07/21/2005 - Mazda is recalling 27,800 RX8 sports cars because of a problem with the front suspension that could lead to a loss of steering resulting in a crash.

Due to improper forging of the lower control arm, cracks may occur in the ball joint socket.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reports that the ball may separate from the ball joint socket causing the loss of steering and potential crash.

Dealers will repair the RX8 when the recall gets underway in August. Owners can contact Mazda at 1-800-222-5500 or NHTSA at 1-888-327-4236.
