VW Jettas, Ford SUVs, Toyota Tacomas Recalled

07/07/2005 - Auto recalls have been announced for the Volkwagen Jetta, Ford Expedition and Navigator SUVs and the Toyota Tacoma pickup truck.
Volkswagen AG is recalling 39,583 Jetta sedans sold in the United States because of a potential fuel leak that could trigger a fire inside the engine compartment. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that a fuel supply line clamp located in the engine compartment may not be positioned properly and could cause the fuel leak.
The vehicles involved in the recall are from the 2005 model year.
Ford Motor Co. is recalling 10,061 Expedition and Navigator SUVs from the 2006 model year because tires on the driver's side may be damaged. NHTSA warns that the damage could lead to a tread separation and crash.
A sharp object within the Ford assembly line caused the tire damage according to NHTSA.
Finally NHTSA reports on its website that Toyota Motor Co. is recalling 11,592 2005-model year Tacoma pickup trucks in the United States due to defective seat belt buckle sensors. |
