Honda Recalls Accord, Prelude, Acura Models
ConsumerAffairs.com

02/02/2005 - Honda has issued a voluntary recall of nearly half a million automatic transmission Honda and Acura models to repair ignition switch interlocks.

Some interlock levers may be improperly dimensioned, the company said, possibly allowing a driver to switch the ignition off and remove the key without putting the shift lever in the "Park" position. No injuries have been reported.

The recall includes some 1999 to 2002 Honda Accord models and all 1997 to 2001 Honda Prelude models. Some 1999 and 2000 Acura TL sedans are also included in the recall.

Details regarding mailing dates and affected vehicles will be available on the Honda and Acura Web sites on February 4, 2005, the company said.
