Due to issues with "windshield defrosting and defogging systems," GM is recalling 10,179 certain model year 2011 Buick Lacrosse and Cadillac SRX vehicles. According to a NHTSA report, the recall is expected to begin on or before March 11, 2011.
The problem has often led to an inability to adjust the heat, ventilation, and air-conditioning settings in these vehicles, which could create problems with decreased driver visibility.
GM dealers have stated that they will replace the faulty ECC systems, free of charge. For more information regarding the recall, contact Buick at 1-866-608-8080, Cadillac at 1-866-982-2339, or NHTSA's Vehicle Safety hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
